Overcome Your Binge Eating Disorder

One Of The Tricks That Helped Me Overcome Binge Eating

End Binge Eating Newsletter

Hi everyone!

In this newsletter I want to talk about two things that you can introduce to your life to really get your mind off of eating.  As many of you know, I was in Chicago last week.  My boyfriend was attending a conference and I went and listened to one of the speakers.  While he was talking, he said something brilliant and I had to get out a notebook so that I could write down what he just said.  After I heard it, I realized that it is the very same concept that I believe in and that I’ve said to you over and over again.

I will admit that the way he said it has a much greater impact.  I had never heard it before, but perhaps some of you have.   He said, “Small hinges open big doors”.  I got so excited when I heard this because it can be applied to absolutely everything in a person’s life, including binge eatingSmall hinges open big doors.  Wow!

Sounds simple, right?  So, what does this mean?  It means what I have been saying now for some time.  It is exactly how I overcame binge eating.  I made little changes in my life and ultimately they produced big results.

Many people think that to achieve anything big in life drastic measures are needed.  I’m here to tell you that is absolutely, positively NOT the way it works with binge eating.  For whatever reason you have turned to food for comfort for many years, so do you really think that it is possible for you to incorporate a huge change in your life and actually stick to it when you’ve been doing the opposite for so long?  NO!  Instead you are setting yourself up for failure because the change is so far out of reach.

Let me challenge you this week to incorporate small changes in your life.  Take a look at your life and see what things you can tweak and/or add to your life for a huge improvement.  Small changes can be:  buying a notebook and journaling about your feelings, keeping a food diary of the times that you binge and the times that you don’t and how you feel, reaching out for support, learning to release any built up stress by exercising, reaching for a piece of fruit to satisfy your sugar craving instead of candy, etc.  Pick one small thing that you can do for the next week and try your best to stick to it.  Then next week, pick another and keep building on this.  Really just add one new thing to your life – you don’t want to end up overwhelming yourself!

It takes little changes in your life to ultimately conquer binge eating.  Little things will add up, one by one and produce BIG results.  Without small hinges on a door, it simply would not open.  See what changes you can add to your life.  See what you can tweak.  Most importantly, keep in mind that it is little things that will help you get to your final result!

Waiting to go into the spa for Spa Week

Spa Week

Were any of you able to get pampered last week for spa week?  While in Chicago, my best friend and I decided to do something that we had never done before:  Acupuncture.  I had high hopes of this spa experience, but it didn’t turn out so well.  I will spare you the details, but hope that your spa treatment was a lot better than mine!  You can bet that I will definitely be sticking to massages in the future!

Halt!

Yesterday I was talking to one of my friends and telling her about the small hinges quote I had heard.  She told me about something that she had recently heard and thought it would be perfect to send out to you.  It is HALT.

Hungry
Angry
Lonely
Tired

Kristin in Chicago - Not Binge Eating! :)
A beautiful day in Chicago at
Lake Michigan.

Before you reach for food, ask yourself if you are really hungry or if you are just eating because you are angry, lonely, or tired.  If you realize that you want to reach for food because you are feeling lonely, pick up the food and call a friend.  If you want to eat because you are mad, go and exercise to work off that negative emotion.

If you want to eat because you are tired, lay down and try to take a nap or go to bed.  If you are reaching for food because you are hungry, then eat!  You just need to listen to your body and figure out what it is that you want.  When you know that, you can cater to that feeling in the proper way!

Finally, the time has come for my cruise.  We leave this Sunday for a week!  I can’t wait.  I have lost a total of about 46lbs and I’m ready to show off my new self.  I have a whole new wardrobe and I can’t wait to take tons of pictures!  I’m even going to send you some pictures of me in my bathing suit!  How’s that for motivation for me?  Be on the lookout for my new self in a bikini!

I believe in you!

...Update On MaryAnn

You may remember MaryAnn from last month's newsletter.  (If you did not read it, click here and it will open in a new window.)

MaryAnn had enrolled in one of my previous e-classes and just sent me this e-mail that I wanted to share with you...

------------------------------------

"Hi Kristin,

I was pondering something, and I think I pretty much got this figured out
(my eating problem, that is ;).  I used to think that I just loved food too
much
and that's why I binged/overeat.  But, after eating this way, and other
things you mentioned in your eBook, I actually believe the opposite now.

Perhaps I don't like food enough?  I mean, if you love something, you respect
it and I clearly haven't been doing that for the past two years, eh?  I was
abusing it.  So in a way I was abusing myself.  Does this make any sense?  Seriously, that tip really helped me - thanks!  It was the icing on the cake (which I really am not craving right now - ha ha!)

Anyways, I feel really good about my revelation and I'm really not afraid to
eat anymore.  I trust myself now.  I think I'm close to being healed,
seriously.  I wanted to tell you this when you were in Chicago, but I didn't
want to take away any time from you and your friend so I decided to wait.  Oh, a huge virtual hug to you, my angel.  You have healed me.

XOXOXO
Maryanne

---------------------------------

Congratulations girl!  I am soooooo proud of you!  :)  You brought up something that I think is very important to share with everyone.  Just one small change in your thinking has provided you with a massive leap in your healing.  This is how one heals from binge eating disorder.

Note to everyone:

I have NEVER disclosed this information to you before... but MaryAnn has inspired me.  For the first time ever, I am going to really open up my heart to you and tell you what this is all about...

There are many 'small changes' in your thinking one must make to get on the road to ending binge eating once and for all.  It's not an overnight fix.  It took you weeks, months, or even years to become who you are today (the way you think, act, and respond).  It will take time for you to change the way you think about food and how you think about yourself.

I took me so long to figure this out and no one was teaching this out there - especially when it came to overcoming binge eating.  As you read on my home page, my boyfriend helped guide me in a new direction to find new ways to overcome binge eating that just wasn't out there or being talked about.  (This, of course, was when I finally admitted to him that I had a problem with food.)

My eBook and the e-classes are designed around helping you change the way you think and respond to situations.  They are designed to help you have these "Ah Ha!" moments like MaryAnn did today.  These moments happen over time and they happen more often the more you use the information that I teach you in my eBook and e-classes.

For the best results, I suggest that you read my eBook and then take my e-class.  If you have not done either one, then it's OK to be doing both at the same time as they will go hand-in-hand with each other.

My life's mission and purpose is to help YOU overcome binge eating and live the life that has been hiding inside you.  I can tell you for a FACT that you don't even know the amazing things that you have been hiding inside of you that are ready to finally come out.

Yes, my eBook and e-class is about helping you overcome binge eating on the surface, but what I rarely ever talk about is the fact that I am slowly taking you by the hand and empowering you.  I'm empowering you to open new doors.  I'm empowering you to build your self-esteem and instill belief in yourself.    I'm empowering you to reach new heights that you would have never ever thought you'd reach.

Now if I told you all of this right up front, you'd say, "Yeah right, Kristin.  Suuuuuure".  But I am seeing this happen more and more.  People are contacting me who have read my eBook and/or took my e-class and I am truly witnessing them turn into brand new people.  This true life-transformation is inside of all of us - just waiting to blossom.  And you have the power to begin this transformation right now.

Let me take you by the hand and guide you to the brand new life that is waiting for you.  A life where everything and anything is possible.  A life full of incredible relationships.  A life full of incredible health.  And a life full of happiness and well-being.

Small hinges open big doors.  Ending binge eating is your first small hinge that will begin to open a new door for you.  Once that door cracks open and you see the incredible light inside, the most incredible journey you've ever taken will begin.  I am truly honored and blessed to help guide you on this path.  I am here to help you first overcome binge eating... that's where we begin.  But in the end, my mission and purpose is not only to help you overcome binge eating, but to help you become the person that I know you'll soon become.

It's totally normal for you to feel like happiness, great self-esteem, a great body, a wonderful life, etc. is 1,000,000,000 miles away from you right now.  And to be honest, that is a good feeling to have.  It's simply your mind begining to prepare you for the journey.  The journey to a new life.

I believe in you.

Love,
Kristin
